Devaluation of Southern Confederacy Money

From Houghtalings Handbook ©1887
When the first issue of the Confederate money was scattered among the people, it commanded a slight premium. It then scalled down as follows:

DATE WORTH
June 1861 90c
Dec 1, 1861 80c
Dec 15 1861 75c
Feb 1862 60c
Fec 1863 20c
June 1863 8c
Jan 1864 2c
Nov 1864 4 1/2c
Jan 1865 2 1/2c
Apr 1865 1 1/2c

After that date it took from $800 to $1,000 in Confederate money to buy a one-dollar greenback until the end came.
